In our hockey pool we allow for 5 reserve positions. Each year that we do the draft I see the same scenario where owners don't give much thought to those late round draft picks. They typically just sort their players according to CBS Projections and grab the names on the top of the list.
If you think ahead about these late picks you should be able to find some "sleepers" or "prospects" that just might surprise and could have a real impact on your team as the season progresses.
The next time you're getting ready for your draft don't just think about those first few rounds in your draft. Take some time and research out some players for your last 5 picks. Look for prospects and underperforming players who have a potential to surprise. Sure it takes some extra time, but in the long-term I bet it will pay off and at least one of those players will be a key component of your team (especially if you get into injury issues).
